Rocca Vinealis

The Roccavinealis Agricultural Company was born in 2016 from an idea of ​​four friends who one evening with a handshake decided to dedicate their free time to a project to be developed together.
In a short time, the fourteen owners of the land where in the past there were the most luxuriant vineyards in the town of Roccavignale, a Ligurian territory close to the Alta Langa, agreed. It is here that in just three years from that bet, with a little courage and a lot of recklessness, the first Granaccia grapes were harvested.
The result of the first IGT red wine from the Savona hills exceeded all expectations and the four friends decided to increase production by planting other vines. The following year the result improved further so they decided to develop a new project: a property cellar.
Thanks also to European contributions, in 2021 an old shed was purchased which in a short time was transformed into a brand new and modern cellar equipped with all the latest generation equipment. The cellar was immediately sized for a higher production than the current one.
In the same year, with the first sales of our wine, it was natural to think of opening a store that could enhance the territory as well as the product. In fact, the Alta Val Bormida, for years the protagonist of an industrial revolution, is currently in a deep crisis, with closed factories and abandoned land. Fortunately, many of these are suitable (as geomorphologically similar to the Langa) for the production of great wines.
Today about 15,000 cuttings of Granaccia 3000 of vermentino and 1000 of scimiscia are planted on the property on a total of 32,000 square meters.
The company’s land is about 110,000 square meters of which 60,000 are fenced in a single plot. The rows arranged from east to west, are 240 cm apart and the plants are placed 80 cm from each other. The breeding is Guyot type.
This year the company participated in the first Vinitaly together with the business network to which we are associated “Vite in Riviera” aware of the peculiarities of the wines produced that are Ligurian in heart and soul but grown away from home away from the sea at 520 masl where temperatures reach their maximum thermal excursions.
2022 was the year of birth of our great Rosè called “La Rebecca” which aroused great interest in all operators in the sector.
Roccavinealis wines are truly heroic wines not only in the cultivation methodology but also in how they were born and how they conquer the small market spaces every day.
